Self-guided tours to Russia.

Russia has very beautiful and historic places to visit. Organized tours have good offers for  Moscow and Saint Petersburg, but if you want to reach many of the places it is better and cheaper to self-organize tour. In this article we will show you 4 big cities that you can easily visit without speaking  Russian language and buying a tour. We exclude Moscow and Saint Petersburg – they are the best opportunities for this, but maybe we will write about them (and nearby cities) later,  there is enough information in the web for them.

Russia is not so unfriendly for foreigners as most of the people consider. In the big cities there are many people speaking foreign languages,  good transport,  variety of accomodations.

All of the cities listed below have quality and cheap taxis – we checked that Uber works there, so you can order from your smartphone.

Russian railways are onе of the greatest railways in the world. They introduce fast passenger trains for the popular destinations (250 km/h). Prices are not fixed, they change due to the occupacy. #2 Kazan

Distance from Moscow: 812 km
Best way to reach: Plane, 1,5 h
Landmarks: Central Kazan (2 districts Kazanskiy Posad- historically Russian; Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda – historically Tatar) Kazan Kremlin, National Museum of the Tatarstan, Epiphany Church.
